It is a little-known fact that, from a very young age, Derek Landy had dreams of getting into the apron industry. Many a long night he would lie awake in bed, imagining all the aprons he'd get to make when he was older. Friends and neighbours laughed at his dreams, calling him "delusional", "deluded", and "short". But Derek grew taller, and wrote the Skulduggery Pleasant series so that he would one day make an apron of his very own. His story of perseverance and self-belief now inspires the next generation of apron enthusiasts, and is set to be made into a movie, with Jennifer Lawrence as Derek.
